Facebook Tops the Race For Sites

Your very own social networking site Facebook has topped Google to become the most visited U.S. Web site last week. This indicates that the shift is how Americans are searching for content on Internet.

The popular web analysis firm Experian Hitwise said that the social networking site surpassed Google to take the No. 1 spot for the week on Internet. It proves that shows content sharing has become a huge driving force online. People mainly want information from friends whom they trust on Internet.

Facebook itself has accounted for 7.07% of U.S. Web traffic that week, while Google received 7.03% on Internet. The total number of visitors to Facebook has spiked 185% compared with the same period last year, while Google's traffic climbed just 9% o Internet.

It is a big moment for Facebook, even though they beat by a small margin. We have seen that Facebook on Internet had never beaten Google over a full weeklong period, though it has been the most visited site on recent holidays. Therefore this small win for Facebook on Internet may prove to be a big leap in the future.
