Clean Your Printer Drum

You often find that your printed pages have blotches, lines or excess toner; in that case your Laser Printer drum may need cleaning.

Do you know that Printer drums are very sensitive? Therefore you should not attempt to clean yours unless you are willing to risk of damaging it. Always remember that Printers differ one from other, so try to consult your owner's manual for the procedure first. You can use this method to clean a Printer drum.

• Firstly, open your Printer and remove the toner cartridge.
• Secondly just try to inspect the drum for obvious damage. If you find that it is damaged, do not try to clean it. Try to replace it.
• Thirdly always try to remove any large spots of toner on the drum with tweezers or pliers. Be sure that you do not scratch the surface.
• Fourthly, try to dip a cotton swab in a rubbing alcohol and gently swipe any visible soil.
• Fifthly, try to put a couple of drops of alcohol on a soft, lint-free cloth if the entire drum looks dirty. Therefore carefully wipe your drum.
• Sixthly check the other parts of your Printer for dirt while you have the cartridge out. Remember to carefully clean them.
• Lastly try to reinstall the cartridge and print a couple of test pages. If you find the problem persists, you may probably need a new drum.

By following these steps, you can easily clean your Printer drum.
