Yahoo To Buy Sports Firm
Yahoo, one of the leading websites on the Internet is all set to buy a sports firm called Citizen. The sports firm deals with various fantasy sports leagues ranging from basketball to football. Yahoo has realized that in order to keep up with the tough competition of the social networking phenomenon it has to acquire various ways of promotion.
Yahoo Buzz has already been launched but up till now it is not as popular as Twitter and Facebook. If the fantasy leagues are launched on the social networking set up, the number of visitors will surely increase. It spices up the platform and provides the audience with wholesome entertainment. Some of the people are also addicted to the fantasy leagues as they want to get the maximum number of points and emerge winners.
The deal will cost a good burden of millions of dollars to Yahoo and sports content from Citizen will also be added in its sports section. The audience base of Citizen Sports has crossed more than 39 million visitors recently and Yahoo’s decision to buy it is surely a good one. The deal will be finalized mostly by the end of June this year.
