Configure Your Microsoft Office Outlook

When you will compare Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 with Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, you will find that there are many new, improved, slightly different appearances, features and some unique settings in Outlook 2007.

You will find that configuring an email account in Microsoft Outlook 2007 is not necessarily more difficult than it was in prior versions. It is just simply in a bit different manner. You just need to learn how to configure your email account in Microsoft Outlook 2007 so you can begin using all the features and tools it offers.

Firstly just start your Microsoft Office Outlook. Then from your main Outlook window, just click "Tools" and select "Account Settings”. After this Go to the "Email" tab and click on "New." From there just select the "Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP" radio button and click "Next."

There just type your name as you want others to view it in sent emails into the "Your name" field. After this type your complete email address, including the "@" sign and the extension into the "Email Address" field. Then just enter your password into both the "Password" and "Retype Password" fields.

Just click "Next" button to see if Outlook can automatically detect your email account settings. Select "Manually Configure Server Settings or Additional Server Types" checkbox and click "Next." Always select "Internet Email" if you are using a web-based program such as Hotmail.

Try to type your name and email address into "Your Name" and "Email Address" fields. Now you just have to enter your server information, which you can get from your email or Internet service providers. Remember you should type in your user name without the "@" sign and extension and your email password. Just click "Next" and finish the wizard. By following these steps you can configure your Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 appropriately.
