Google Search On Your TV

From now your Internet search engine giant Google will be on your TV. Recently Google has taken a new leap as it is testing a new television programming search service in conjunction with Dish Network as is quoted by The Wall Street Journal.

This new service from the Internet search engine will appear in a testing phase which will run on a special set-top box. This will apparently search content from both the Dish programming guide as well as web video services like You Tube.

As no details are given regarding its specific implementations, it is unclear about how similar this venture is to the new upcoming TiVo Premiere service that was recently announced. You can get more reports about it on Internet.

As now more and more consumer electronics are rapidly shifting towards connectivity, there are huge opportunities for embedded systems developers. You will notice that most embedded devices use either a custom-built kernel or a modified version of Busy Box. But you will find that the Internet giant could theoretically offer a framework that would be both free and would value-rich for device makers, while also offering opportunities that can impact Google’s core business.

Previously Google’s AdWords launched Google TV Ads as a platform for companies to buy airtime in various markets. Though that project was not as successful as other Google ventures, but perhaps it proved to be a more direct way of tying search to television. Therefore, let’s hope that this projects results something better than the previous one for the Internet giant.
