Free Wi-Fi In Hospital

Great Plains Regional Medical Center announced this week that they are now offering free wireless Internet access for their patients and guests. This new public Wi-Fi network went online on April 5.

The hospital has been working on providing free wireless Internet access to patients for about a year. Even it is assured that there is no chance of accessing the hospital's computer system on the public Wi-Fi system. This particular Wi-Fi system is on a completely separate network that runs on a completely different fiber optic system.

This new Wi-Fi service is available throughout the main hospital building as well as the Callahan Cancer Center. The hospital is also planning to expand the system to include the imaging center and physician's office building.

This particular process will allow people to use their laptop computers and other wireless devices at the hospital and will allow them to do their work while at the hospital or contact friends and family to keep them updated on a patient's condition.

The authorities are also thinking that rather than making the system available only in certain areas, they wanted to make it accessible from anywhere because they understand that people want to be near their loved ones when they are at the hospital. You will also get a current username and password to access the Wi-Fi system.
