Fix Your Offline HP Printer

Often when your HP Printer goes offline, it can easily suffocate your workflow, which in turn can cause frustration in your life. Well there are a few troubleshooting steps that you can try out. Just try to relax, take a deep breath and get your Printer back online so that you can view the ink on printed paper.

At first just check the cables to and from the Printer to the computer and make sure that all the connections are secure. Often a disconnected cable can make your Printer offline.

You can also turn the Printer off and back on. As there could be a glitch in the network. Just try to reset the Printer by turning it off and then wait 60 seconds and turn it back on again. Remember to check the toner or ink cartridge. As most popular HP Printers have the capacity for both color and black ink or toner cartridges.

Always check for those torn paper, paper clips, sticky label residue and other items that could cause Printer jams. All these can stop your Printer in its tracks. Try to set your Printer as your default Printer and see if this resets it to online status.
For this go to the Start menu, select "Control Panel". From there select "Printers and other Hardware". From there choose "Pick a Task", select "View Installed Printers or Fax Printers". Now just select your questionable Printer that is offline. Remember to select the "Printer" from the pull-down menu. Lastly, just click on "Set Printer as Default". Therefore just follow these steps to fix your offline HP Printer.
