Microsoft’s Big Step To Stop Hacker Spam
Microsoft on Internet has now taken a big step by combining technology with an extraordinary legal exercise to cripple a massive network of hacked computers that had been flooding the Internet with spam. Recently this software titan's Digital Crime Unit got clearance from a US judge to virtually dissolve the cyber criminals command from thousands of machines worldwide which are infected with a Waledac virus through Internet.
The aim is to build a wall between the bot-herder, the command computer and all of the other computers that are being used. The news is Microsoft got a US judge to grant a temporary restraining order that can let the firm erect the cyber blockade without warning bot-herders.
The main mission is to take down one of the ten largest botnets in the United States. It is estimated that Waledac have infected thousands of computers worldwide through Internet. Many popular hackers typically infect computers with malicious codes by tricking owners into clicking on booby-trapped email messages on Internet links that plant viruses. This dangerous Waledac bonnet was believed to be capable of sending more than 1.5 billion spam email messages daily on Internet.
Microsoft advised computer users to purge their machines of viruses and make sure their programs and security software are up to date. Therefore, let’s hope that this step from Microsoft will make some distinction in the world of cyber crime on Internet.
